1978 AGBU Report — Relief Distribution In order to assist disaster-stricken, disoriented, and immediately food-needy Lebanese-Armenians, the AGBU formed two committees in the eastern and western districts of Beirut. Approximately 100,000 Lebanese pounds were spent, mainly in the Armenian-populated eastern area. The AGBU also supported the Joint-Charitable Councel by providing 25,000 Lebanese pounds. Actively participated in the Central Council formed under the auspices of the Catholicosate of All Armenians and the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, for the Reconstruction of the Lebanon in which the position of treasurer was assumed by the committee’s vice-chairman, Setrak Kasarjian.
