AGBU-AYA Committees General Assembly

1977 11 06 AGBU General assembly in Alec. Manougian Center On Sunday, November 6, at the Alex Manougian Center, a general assembly of AGBU-AYA took place.---------- This gathering brought together the executive committees, administrations, and subcommittees of the AGBU-AYA Association in Lebanon for a consultative meeting.----------- The focus was on resuming activities with renewed energy and adapting to the circumstances that had emerged following Lebanon's 19-month civil conflict.-----------The meeting was attended by over 90 members, including representatives from the AGBU Lebanon Regional Committee, such as Mr. K. Nazarian, Mr. H. Ouzunian, Mr. S. Kasardjian, and Mr. H. Altounian, alongside the AYA Central Administration.---------- Special guests included the principals of five AGBU schools: Mr. Ara Topjian, Mr. Yervand Gerboyan, Mr. H. Tabakian, Mrs. Patapoutian, and Ms. Anjel Jandjanian, as well as Mr. Yervant Babayan, the principal of the V. Tekeyan School.----------------- Mr. Hagop Altunian spoke on the AGBU-AYA’s budget structure and the financial status of the District Committee, while Mr. A. Topjian, principal of the AGBU Hovakimian-Manougian School, presented on the vital topic of club-school relations. This was followed by an intermission, during which attendees engaged in refreshments and informal discussions, fostering closer relationships among participants.------------- After the break, Mr. Sarkis Minasian, the AYA Central Administration’s secretary, spoke about administrative-organizational structures and practices. Mr. Artoun Hamalian then outlined upcoming annual programs and potential future activities.------------- The assembly was deeply inspiring, especially as it was seen as a necessary response to Lebanon's recent upheavals. Such a gathering was essential to align future activities with the new conditions faced in the region.---------------
