RECEPTION IN HONOR of MR. SET MOMDJIAN

1980 07 23 RECEPTION IN HONOR of MR. SET MOMDJIAN ---------- June 23 was an unforgettable day of unalloyed joy and sincere fellowship for the AGBU in Lebanon.------------ Mr. Seth Momjian, former United States Ambassador to the United Nations, accompanied by members of the AGBU Lebanese Regional Committee —Messrs. Garbis Nazarian, Sarkis Kassarjian, and Sarkis Demirdjian—was escorted to the AGBU Levon G. Nazarian School.------------- There, the principal, Mr. Ara Topjian, welcomed the distinguished guests and provided essential information regarding the school’s overall condition,------------- addressing both the Hovagimian-Manougian Secondary School for Boys and the elementary section, and concluding with reference to the numerous difficulties created by local circumstances.--------------- Mr. Momjian then visited the AYA Zabel Movsesian Center, whose construction had remained unfinished due to the country’s internal conflicts and prevailing insecurity.-------------- At the Boghos K. Garmirian School, the delegation was met with an unexpectedly enthusiastic reception by the school students. Deeply moved, Mr. Seth Momjian conveyed his warm impressions of the Lebanese-Armenian students.------------ Following brief meetings with Principals Mr. Hovhannes Tabakian and Mrs. Anjel Janjanian, commemorative group photographs were taken with the respective teaching staffs.--------- The next stop was the newly inaugurated “Mourad Ghazarian” Dispensary in Antelias.-----------
