1977 01 16 The Graduation Ceremony of the AGBU Boghos K. Garmirian Kindergarten and Elementary 1977 01 16 School ----------- At the end of this academic year, the joyful ceremony of distributing diplomas took place later than usual due to the tragic events in Lebanon. ----------- On Sunday, January 16, 1977, parents of the graduating classes of the AGBU Boghos K. Garmirian School had gathered to attend their children's diploma distribution ceremony. The event was graced by the presence of benefactors Mr. and Mrs. Kevork Garmirian, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Nahaped Nahapedian from Buenos Aires, along with several friends of the school.------------The ceremony began with the national anthems of AGBU, performed on the piano. A short but well-prepared program followed. Songs and recitations were presented by the Kindergarten Graduate class, after which 38 children received their kindergarten diplomas.----------- The second part of the event featured the graduating students of the elementary school’s 5th and 6th grades. They were warmly received with applause as they took the stage, presenting music and recitations in various languages. Houri Minasian from the 5th grade delivered a speech in Armenian, and Varant Tabakian from the 6th grade gave a fitting message in Arabic, expressing the gratitude of their classmates.------------- Diplomas were then distributed: 7 students from the 6th grade and 23 from the 5th grade received their diplomas. Prizes were also awarded, recognizing 17 students for outstanding academic achievements.-------------------The ceremony concluded with final words of encouragement delivered by the school principal, Mr. H. Tabakian.------------------
