1965 Oct 30 AGBU Yervant Hususian Armenology Institute Inauguration “On the evening of Saturday, October 30, 1965, at 8:30 PM, the opening ceremony of the Yervant Hususian Institute of Armenian Studies took place. This event was held in the newly constructed upper floor of the AGBU Hovagimian-Manougian School. Dr. Dikran Varjadetyan, the chairman of the AGBU Educational Committee, gave the opening speech, emphasizing the noble role of the AGBU in the Armenian Diaspora.----------------------- The first speaker of the evening was the institute's distinguished director, poet Vahe Vahian, who discussed the mission and objectives of the institute in detail. Mr. Adrouni Maduryan spoke on behalf of the institute’s students.---------------- The second speaker was Professor Morus Hasratyan, a beloved guest of the Beirut Armenian community and a key figure in establishing the institute. After the cultural segment, Vahe Vahian gave the closing remarks, inviting the guests to the fourth floor of the Hovakimian-Manougian School, which housed the newly constructed section of the Armenian Studies Institute,----------- generously funded by Mr. Yervant Hovsepian. Mr. Yervant Demirchyan, the chairman of the AGBU Lebanon District Committee and a benefactor, cut the ribbon and officially opened the institute’s new center. The guests then toured the fully furnished and well-presented library, classrooms, and offices, offering their best wishes to the institute's leadership for future success”.---------------
