1971 04 17 Dinner-Ball in Phoenicia Hotel"Rarely has it happened that a dinner ball was so enthusiastic and touching from a national point of view as the dinner ball that took place in the Phoenicia Ballroom on April 17, 1971.AGBU President Alec and Mrs Marie Manougian gathered the selected class of Lebanese Armenians; there were guests from Lisbon, Nice, Baghdad, Aleppo, and Adis Abeba. Hundreds of young members gathered around their beloved president to celebrate AGBU-65th and -40th years. -----------Mr. Harout Balian hosted the event. The AGBU Beirut chapter chairman, Setrak Kasarjian, congratulated the attendees. And Mr. Berge Sedrakian greeted the guests in Arabic and French. Then there were generous donations, which raised the unprecedented sum of 350,000 L. L.-----Before the anniversary cake was cut, the president gave a touching and meaningful farewell speech, which was greeted with long applause.----------
«Քիչ անգամ պատահած է որ պարահանդէս մը ըլլայ այնքան խանդավառ եւ այնքան յուզիչ ազգային տեսակէտով, որքան այն պարահանդէսը, որ տեղի ունեցաւ Ֆենիսիայի պարասրահին մէջ, 17 Ապրիլ 1971ին: ՀԲԸՄիութեան նախագահ Ալեք և Տիկին Մարի Մանուկեաններու շուրջ համախմբուած էին լիբանանհայութեան ընտրանի դասակարգը, հրաւիրեալներ կային Լիզպոնէն, Նիսէն, Պաղտատէն, Հալէպէն, Ատիս Ապապայէն: Բազմահարիւր երկսեռ հանդիսականներ խմբուած էին իրենց սիրելի նախագահին շուրջ, տօնելու ՀԲԸՄի-65 եւ -40 ամեակները:-----------Հանդիսավարութիւնը ստանձնած էր Պրն. Յարութ Պալեան: Ներկաներուն բարեգալուստ մաղթեց Պէյրութի Մասնաժողովի ատենապետ Սեդրակ Գասարճեան: Իսկ Պրն. Պերճ Սեդրակեան արաբերէնով եւ ֆրանսերէնով ողջունեց հիւր անձնաւորութիւնները: Այնուհետեւ տեղի ունեցան սրտաբուխ նուիրատուութիւններ, որոնցմով գոյեացաւ աննախընթաց գումարը 350,000 լիբ. ոսկի:-----Նախքան որ տարեդարձի կարկանդակը կտրէին, նախագահը ունեցաւ հրաժեշտի յուզիչ եւ իմաստալից ելոյթ մը, որ երկարատեւ ծափողջիւններով դիմաւորուեցաւ:
