1918 Nov Armenian orphans of Ayntoura school
" Thousands of Armenians were rescued from the Genocide as they sought shelter in Syria and Palestine in November 1918. We have informed from Beirut, that there were 800 Armenian orphans (ages 8 to16) in the former French school in Aintoura (Lebanon), mainly from Hurrun, Sebastia, and Caesarea, as currently the French military authorities were taking care of them. However, back then, the Turkish military were forcibly turned those poor children into Turks as they received purely Turkish education! ► 1918
