1918 July "Starting 1st of August the British Army Headquarters will take care of Port Said Refugee camp

In July 1918, the commander of the British army, in an official letter from Marshal Sir Edmund Allen, stated to the AGBU Central Board that the British Army Headquarters will take care of the Port-Said Refugee Camp as of August the 1st. As a result, the AGBU Central board members met with the British Army leaders to coordinate the needs of the camp's 6300 refugees. Accordingly, the number of the students at AGBU Sisvan College exceeded 2,200 in 1918 (p.55) A tea-time gathering was held to express the gratitude for all the attendees, including the American Red Cross, the British Officials and Centeral Ladies Auxiliary and everyone who helped the refugee camp."
