Garabed Sheridjian (1852-1926)

Garabed Shiridjian (1852-1926) was a high-ranking official in the Egyptian Ministry of Public Education. Garabed Shiridjian, one of the founders of the Union, who was mainly engaged in educational issues, also had many years of experience in the diplomatic service and played a significant role in the first period of the establishment and activities of the Union. "He was an excellent biologist in all means. he was one of those who use the art of living like an artist," who willingly accepted the position of librarian of the AGBU Noubarian Library, dedicating to the library an extensive personal collection of his valuable, selected books. During the founding days of AGBU, Boghos Nubar was well aware of the importance of the administrative work that was necessary for the successful and smooth running of the Union. He made a successful choice in this section, entrusting the management of the administrative department of the newly established organization to Megerdich Andranikian, and later to Vahan Malezian.
