1981 11 12 TAROUHY HAGOPIAN SCHOOL REOPENING The reopening of a school has always been a source of excitement and deep emotion for everyone. Those feelings were shared by all who attended the ceremony at Tarouhy Hagopian School on October 12.-------- This was no ordinary reopening. Despite the unfavorable conditions still prevailing in the country and the continuing uncertainty, the AGBU had undertaken the bold task of constructing a new school building to replace the old one, accomplishing what seemed almost miraculous within a remarkably short period of time.---------- After seven years of a wandering existence, Tarouhy Hagopian School finally found its secure and permanent home in the Zabel Movsessian Building of the AGBU in Sin el-Fil.---------- Particularly gratifying was the presence at the opening ceremony of the late benefactress’s sister and executor of her will, Mrs. Hinayekian.--------- Everyone was deeply moved when Mrs. Hinayekian, with her trembling hand, cut the ribbon at the entrance.-------------- Also present were representatives of the AGBU Lebanon Central Committee, including Vice-Chairman Mr. S. Kasarjian and Assistant Secretary Mr. H. Altounian, as well as Dr. H. Koumrouyan from the Educational Committee.
