1980 Nov 6, 1980 – Medical Lecture, AGBU Antelias Ladies’ Committee 1980 11 06 The AGBU Antelias Chapter Ladies’ Committee inaugurated its activities for the new season by launching a series of lectures. The first lecture took place on Thursday, November 6, 1980, at 10:00 a.m., at the Mourad Ghazarian Dispensary in Antelias. A reception was held beforehand, after which the Vice-Chairlady of the Committee, Mrs. Hasmig Babahékian, opened the event by welcoming all attendees and expressing gratitude to the Dispensary Board for generously making the facility available for all their activities.---------- She then invited the Chairlady, Mrs. Sosy Naccashian, to present an overview of the Committee’s activities. Mrs. Naccashian informed the audience about the construction of a new hall at the Garmirian School, which had already begun, made possible through the benefaction of AGBU’s lifelong President, Mr. Alex Manoogian. She also spoke about AGBU’s extensive philanthropic efforts, particularly its care and support for the community, including in the field of healthcare.------------- As the guest speaker had already arrived, Mrs. Babahékian introduced him to the audience. The distinguished lecturer, Dr. Manoug Küpelian, was born in Beirut and received his secondary education at the Armenian Evangelical College. He then pursued his higher education in Yerevan from 1964 to 1971 at the Yerevan Medical Institute, and between 1971 and 1974 specialized in gynecology. Upon returning to Beirut, he established his private clinic. Alongside his medical career, he is also active in national community service, serving as the responsible physician of the AGBU Antelias Dispensary.------------- The lecture focused on health issues concerning women. The respected doctor presented the topic clearly and comprehensively, making every effort to ensure it was easily understood.-------------- Following the lecture, time was allocated for questions and discussion.
