AYA CHAPTERS SCOUTS GATHERING IN BZOMMAR

October 11–12, 1980 ALEX MANOUGIAN AND ANTELIAS CHAPTERS SCOUTS GATHERING IN BZOMMAR On Saturday and Sunday, October 11 and 12, 1980, the AGBU-AYA Scouts of the Alex Manougian Center and the Antelias Chapter held a two-day camp gathering in the park surrounding the Monastery of Bzommar. The Catholic St. Gregory the Illuminator Scout Group also participated in the event.----------------- The Alex Manougian Center Scout Group departed from the Center on Saturday morning and, after joining the Antelias Scout Group in Antelias, proceeded together up to the campsite.----------- The afternoon was devoted to setting up the tents and organizing the patrols into groups.---------- In the evening, dinner was held followed by a campfire program, and before bedtime the scouts took part in a night game.---------- Sunday proved to be a productive working day. Reveille was at 5:00 a.m. Activities were carried out in three divisions: •Non-sworn scouts •Sworn scouts •Ranked (senior) scouts From 6:00 to 9:00 a.m., the ranked scouts completed a fully equipped hike and area exploration, which included photography, map preparation, and terrain study.---------- During the same period, the sworn scouts prepared a flagpole mast, while the non-sworn scouts received instruction in practical scouting skills.----------- BZOMAR
