April 24 Commemorate at the A. Manougian Center

1980-04-20 — Commemoration of April 24 at the A. Manougian Center On Sunday, April 20, at the AGBU Alex Manougian Center, a commemorative ceremony was held under the auspices of the AGBU University Students’ Executive Committee to recall the memory of our innocent victims who were massacred 65 years earlier.----------- The Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Hovig Markarian, delivered the opening remarks, referring to the infernal crime committed 65 years ago.----------- He noted that the stance of Armenian youth—whether in the past or today—has been brave, daring, and resolute. He addressed the perspectives and responsibilities of our youth.------------ Following the opening address, Mr. Hrach Minassian, with deep emotion, recited “The Genocidal Bell Toll” from Barouyr Sevag’s The Unsilenced Belfry, conveying powerful feelings of national consciousness to those present. Thereafter, the Chairman invited to the podium Attorney Kasbar Derderian to deliver his address on the responsibilities facing contemporary Armenian youth, 65 years after the Great Genocide.
