AYA Antranik-Antelias Scouts Bonfire in Ayroun campsite

The Campfire ceremony of the AGBU-AYA Antranik-Antelias Scouts Movement was held on Saturday August 29, 2015 in the Airoun Campsite at 7:00 PM. More than 300 members of the AYA Antelias Scouts Movement including the Scouts leadership, butterflies, brownies, cubs, boy and girl scouts, caravelles and rovers enthusiastically prepared the Campfire ceremony program which was the closing event of the 2014-2015 summer camp. Dances, songs, poetry and sketches were presented by the various units of the Antelias Scouts Movement. The Campfire Ceremony was attended by the AYA Central Committee chairman and members, AYA Antranik-Antelias Executive Committee chairman and members, the various AYA committee members and a large number of parents and friends. The participant scout groups who marched towards the campfire place were headed by the AYA Marching Band conducted by Garo Geukgeuzian who performed the Lebanese, Armenian, AGBU and AYA anthems. The attendees were welcomed by the Antranik-Antelias Scouts Movement group leader Eddy Toramanian. Then, Antranik-Antelias Executive Chairman and Central Committee member Vatche Avedikian congratulated the Antelias Scouts Movement for its achievements and hard work during the 2014-2015 scouts season. This was followed by the speech of the AYA Central Committee Chairman Vicken Tchertchian who expressed his gratitude to the contributors in the success of this camping. He also stressed on the importance of the preservation of the Armenian identity and values. Finally, the ceremony was closed by the scouts’ traditional farewell song.
