1950 Dec 15: "After the deportation and in the early years of Armenian community formation in Lebanon, and till the 1940s, the "schools" in Lebanon were in a deplorable condition! Wooden or tin-made unhealthy, muddy and humid small rooms, or gathering places separated by curtains! overcrowded." "The turning point had to be started at the AGBU Central Board meeting on Dec 15 1950, by the launching of AGBU President Arshag Karageozian in the name of AGBU Central Board " “The Fund Raising campaign for building new and formal schools in Lebanon!"
