1979 11 10 – AGBU-AYA UNIVERSITY STUDENTS YEARLY FIRST MEETING-----1979 11 10 AGBU-AYA UNIVERSITY STUDENTS YEARLY FIRST MEETING: The first general membership meeting of the AGBU-AYA University Students Association for the current academic year was held on Saturday, November 10, 1979, at the Alec Manougian Youth Center. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss various issues with the members and to provide an opportunity for our members from different local universities to get to know each other.-------- With the presence of approximately eighty university students, the Association’s president, Mr. Nerses Kerkesharian, gave the opening speech. After briefly highlighting the Association’s beneficial activities, he noted that, due to the conditions in the country, it had not been possible to hold administrative elections. It was therefore deemed appropriate for the previous administration to continue its planned activities this year, with some modifications.---------- Next, Committee members; Dr. Alice Nokhoudian and Mr. Viken Khachadourian presented the report on the previous academic year. This academic year, forty new university students joined the AYA University Students Association. At the conclusion of the meeting, a proper reception was held in honor of the new university students.------------
