AGBU-AYA Zahle Club Opening

1974 10 13 AGBU-AYA Zahle Club Hall Opening--------- The opening ceremony of the AGBU Antranik Club new Hall in Zahle, took place on Sunday, October 13, 1974.---------- The event was held in the newly built hall on the upper floor of the club. The President and benefactors, Mr. and Mrs. Garbis Nazarian, attended the ceremony alongside other benefactors, including Mr. and Mrs. Kevork Garmirian, Mr. A. Yesayan, representatives of the AYA Central Administration and Executive committees, and other prominent individuals. ---------They were followed by the Mayor of Zahle, Mr. Aziz Abdi, and Member of Parliament, Mr. Elias Hrawy, accompanied by the poet Said Akl. After introductory speeches by the day's hosts, Mr. Garabed Chinchinian and Ms. Yeprouhy Fermanian,--------- Mr. Azad Megrian, Chairman of the Local Board of AYA and Principal of Balkdjian School, took the stage to present the activities carried out by the club so far. Poet Said Akl then commended the Armenian people’s creativity, constructive talents, and virtues.---------- The final speaker was Executive Committee member Mr. Shahe Fermanian. After the Lebanese and AYA anthems,------------ The ceremony included a scout group parade with harmonized renditions, followed by a European dance by the club’s girl scouts. Led by the Chairman of the Executive committee, ----------the day's President and other distinguished guests ascended to the newly constructed hall, where the ceremonial blue ribbon was cut at the entrance. Guests were then served cocktails in celebration.---------
