University Students' Union organized a lecture at the Zareh Noubar Club

the Cultural Committee of the Arm. University Students' Union organized a lecture at the Zareh Noubar Club. The invited speaker was Mr. Souren Ghazarian, who spoke on the topic "Methods of Teaching Sign Languages to the Deaf and Mute." The chairman of the University Students' Union Committee, Miss Hermine Hadjian, introduced the day's lecturer, Mr. S. Ghazarian, one of the rare teachers specially trained by Miss H. Witzmann, the director of the Institution for the Blind, Deaf, and Mute, to teach language, history, religion, and science to these students. The esteemed lecturer spoke in English for an entire hour, using a magic lantern to explain the methods applied in the education of the deaf and mute. He then conducted experiments with live examples, involving deaf and mute students. After the lecture, Mr. Ghazarian answered questions from the audience. The deaf and mute students presented a short comedy skit about Vardan Mamikonian’s story, a group recitation, and several group dances—performed with Armenian language and emotion, which deeply moved and delighted the audience.
