1974 April and May AGBU-AYA V Papazian Theater Performance “THE DIARY OF A SOUNDREL” ---- In the 1974 academic year, during April and May, the AYA Vahram Papazian Theater Group performed the Russian classical playwright Alexander Ostrovsky's play, The Diary of a Scoundrel, in the C. Gulbenkian Hall of the Hovagimian-Manougian School. The performance included ten evening shows and two matinee performances. The play's content and the urgent issues it raised resonated as timely, reflecting various conflicting aspects of contemporary reality.----------- Director-actor Krikor Satamian brought this production to life by involving 16 seasoned and new Papazian cast members who fully met the expectations placed upon them. This production added a new quality and investment to the longstanding, fruitful contributions of the AGBU-AYA V. Papazian Theater Group. Through this play, K. Satamian once again proved himself as a talented director of the community, with much more to contribute.----------- A notable and encouraging feature was the debut of new actors in key roles—H. Baharian, K. Gökthceyan, V. Bodroumyan, and M. Mkhitaryan.
