ZN SCOUTS TEN UNFORGETTABLE DAYS IN EGYPT

1974 09 16: TEN UNFORGETTABLE DAYS IN EGYPT On Monday, September 16, 1974, at 8:00 AM, fifteen scouts from the AGBU-AYA Lebanon Zareh Noubar scout group, led by Group Leader Diran Shaklian, and Assistant Leaders Hovig Isbiryan and Garo Kalindjian, set off for Cairo. The scouts, dressed in their uniforms, were warmly received by the hostesses of "Middle East Airlines," who treated them better than usual. Mr. Haig Telalian, the Group Leader of the Homenetmen Nubar Cairo chapter, welcomed us at the Cairo airport. From then on, wherever we went, the kind-hearted Haig was always our caring companion. Outside the airport waiting for us was Mr. Habib Torossian. We soon arrived at the Homenetmen Noubar club in Heliopolis. After settling our belongings, we met the local scouts who were setting up our tents—Vartan, Hagop, Raffi, Vazken, Neshan, Edy, Norayr, and others. After lunch, Mr. Hagop Jamgotchian arrived. Under his sponsorship and personal supervision, we spent ten unforgettable days in the land of the pyramids. TO ALEXANDRIA At the station, Mr. L. Khoungoyan, V. Seferian, Dr. Astourian, the scout leader Dikran Tavityan, and the girl scouts leader Shushik Davityan were waiting for us. 1974 09 16
