ANTRANIK-SEVAN SCOUTS GROUP SDL AFFILIATION CEREMONY Antranik-Sevan Branch Scouts group: After the hard work of the group leadership, on March 22, 1970, the Antranik-Sevan scout group, like the Zareh Noubar scout group, was officially recognized by the Lebanese Scout Federation (SDL) as the 16th Beirut—a historic day for the chapters scouts life. More than 200 parents, scouts' friends, and high-ranking responsibles, group leaders gathered at Levon G. Nazarian schoolyard. After the flag ceremony, Chief Rutolph Jabbour announced the official attachment of the Andranik-Sevan scout group to the Association of the "Scouts du Liban", handing over the 16th flag of the Federation to the group leader, chief. Kevork Santourian. Vahe Setrakian, one of the former AYA scout leaders and the commissioner of the scout's department within the Federation, will accept the factional oath from the faction leader Kevork Santourean. The group's pastor, Rev. Kevork Garbisian Speaking, mentioned the need for the scouting movement within our Armenian community as an educational movement next to the profile and physical structure of the youth, family and school. Then the president of the scouting organization, Chief Hikmet Nasif, said, among others: "Today you joined the great brotherhood of scouts in the Lebanese homeland. You should help and cooperate with our brother groups to serve and support our motherland of Lebanon." After the ceremony, a reception was held honouring parents and friends.
