1963 Jun 28-29 AGBU- AYA Dance Group Performance in H-M Caloust Gulbenkian Hall…” Three Evenings – The Hovagimian-Manougian Sch. Caloust Gulbenkian Hall in Beirut was filled with a crowd that lived through unforgettable moments: The AGBU-AYA Song and Dance Ensemble performed with a new lineup and almost an entirely new program. An ensemble composed of 80 people, which includes its choir, music, and dance sections, gathered, trained, and presented in a short time—a feat that is not easy at all. The members of AYA's Central Cultural Committee exerted exceptional efforts for this success. Undoubtedly, the choir, orchestra, and dance group leaders and those responsible also worked just as hard. Thanks to Dr. E. Elmajian's wise conducting, the choir managed to infuse vitality into every syllable of its songs.-----------The orchestra, led by Hagop Melkonian, kept pace with the dances and managed to excite both the dancers and the audience. Under the leadership of young artists Haig Mserlian and Ms. Araxy Yesayan, the dance group transported the hearts of the audience to the homeland, into a magical atmosphere.
