AGBU Gulabi Gulbengian fund to build houses in Beirut to help settling down the Armenian refugees

1932 May Settlement in Syria (Lebanon) and AGBU Gullabi Gulbenkian Foundation. AGBU Gullabi Gulbenkian fund to build houses in Beirut to help settle the Armenian refugees in Bourj Hamoud and Syria. Last summer, due to the collapse of some of the refugee camps, 15,000 refugees were left homeless! The issue of refugees housing was an urgent must for the AGBU Central Board. Applications were also made to the Gullaby Gulbenkian Foundation. We are happy to announce that the honorable directors of this institution, in an official letter addressed to the AGBU Central Board, inform that they will provide to the AGBU $15,000 for the construction of a particular district in Beirut! In an agreement with the Nansenian International Office, a section will be established in Beirut with that amount. Adjacent to the Nor Marash and Trad plot with hundred and fifty houses, named "Gullabashen!" The French Government and charitable organizations as "Lord Mayer's Fund," "Friends of Armenia," "Society of Friends," "Save the Children," etc. have supported the Nansenian Office to accommodate the Armenian refugees from camp huts to the city's residential districts.
