1925 AGBU new artisanal workshops for young girls in the orphanages

On July 1925, AGBU opened new artisanal workshops for young girls in the orphanages in Beirut to help the adult orphans to become skilled artisans in various fields of their choice and support themselves after they graduate from the orphanage. About half of them left the shelter for marriage, some settled in Armenian families, and some have joined their relatives. At the end of 1928, the workshop was finally closed.
►ՀԲԸՄիութեան Պէյրութի աղջկանց պատսպարան-ձեռագործի աշխատանոցը. ուր Near East Relief-ի որբանոցներէն արձակուած 80 չափահաս որբուհիներ հոն հաստատուեցան: Միութիւնը զանոնք ինքնաբաւ դարձնելու նպատակաւ կազմակերպեց ձեռական աշխատանքներու յատուկ արհեստանոցներ: Ի վերջոյ ասոնցմէ մօտ կէսը պատսպարանէն մեկնեցան ամուսնութեամբ, ոմանք հայ ընտանիքներու մէջ տեղաւորուեցան և ոմանք ալ իրենց ազգականներուն մօտ գացին: 1928ին վերջաւորութեան, աշխատանոցը վերջնականապէս փակուեցաւ:(*1925 Jul Aug Mioutioun #106 p59) *(AGBU Album-Houchamadian p35)
