AGBU & AYA at 13th Beirut Marathon

AGBU-Antranik once again was at the heart of the biggest national event of Lebanon .No strangers to help in the organization and to participate in the Beirut Marathon, the youth of AGBU Antranik were proud to take part on Sunday, November 8, 2015, in the Bank du Liban 13th Beirut Marathon organized by the Beirut Marathon Association, that’s considered to be the biggest running event in the Middle East. More than 48,000 were registered to participate in the various race categories and fun run. Our team of scouts, for the 2nd year, diligently guarded the course of 42k finish line track and our girls were handing the medals and taking care of the arrivals. They had a tough long day and we couldn't have been prouder for their dedication and the great work that they have been doing for the community and to our great AGBU-AYA. Whereas a number of participants from the AGBU Antranik community joined the 5k, 10 Km races and fun runs and ran for our cause of "Education for the underprivileged!". The highlight of the year was the participation of 6 AGBU Antranik members in the 42 Km race. AGBU Antranik was once again the only Armenian organization which encouraged its members to enroll in a community-based initiative created by the Beirut Marathon Association that transform first time runners into marathoners. It was a great experience for all of us. It was just wonderful seeing all participants enjoying a great team spirit and getting nurtured with the culture of running. Letter from the Beirut Marathon 2015 to AGBU-Antranik: Once again, the marathon day was a great success on both national and international levels.
