AGBU-AYA ASBEDS 10 YEARS AWARD

1969 03 26 The AGBU-AYA Knights' Asbeds’ Committee, alongside its successful organized events, had the noble idea last year of holding a banquet at "Beau Rivage" and, this year as well, on March 26, 1969, at the newly built "Melkart" hotel, in honor of its members. As a token of appreciation for their service, they presented them with commemorative gifts.---------------The event took place under the presidency of Mr. Yervant Demirdjian, a member of the AGBU Central Board, Chairman of the Lebanon District Committee, and a philanthropist, along with his gracious wife.------------- The driving force and leader of the Knights' (Asbeds) Committe, Mr. Noubar Nazarian, after welcoming the attendees, emphasized that the day's event was merely a small expression of gratitude toward those members and their spouses who, for ten consecutive years, had diligently and dutifully supported the Knights' Organization without hesitation.------------- Following this, distinguished AGBU activist and visiting American-Armenian Mr. Vahakn Jerejian was invited to the stage to present commemorative gifts to the following couples who had completed ten years of service:---------------- Mr. and Mrs. Kegham Dandzigian, Hagop Shaglian, Albert Sarkisian, Nazareth Demirdjian, Hagop Knajian, Hagop Krakirian, Haygazoun Torosian, Onnik Hamalian, Hagop Altounian, Antranig Tashdjian, Hrand Lorentsian, Setrag Kasardjian, George Avakian, and Hratch Setrakian.-------------- -------------*
